Chimney Liners

We know we are the best we just need to talk to you for about 5 minutes after talking to them and then you will know too! Just make sure you call us too, you will be happy you did.

Your chimney, like most chimneys, probably appears to be in fine condition on the outside. But let's take a close look at what really counts in chimney operation...the inside.

Look On The Inside

When we look at the interior of the same chimney we can find a number of imperfect conditions. Pieces are missing from the original clay liner and there are cracks in the clay liner. (Old chimneys might not even have a liner.) Mortar and bricks are loose and falling. And there is excessive buildup of combustable creosote on the flue walls.

These conditions are the result of a number of possible causes, including: flue fires, an improperly vented or misused stove, poor construction, excessive moisture, and more.

With continued use of this chimney, any of these conditions could lead to loss of property or life.

Chimney Problems Can Cause A Loss Of Property

It happened 30,000 thousand times last year - chimney defects resulted in home fires.

It doesn't take much to start a home fire...a spark flitting through a crack in the chimney wall into the attic...a chimney ember igniting a creosote fire which then climbs the full height of the chimney "looking" for a breech in the chimney wall...or simply excessive heat reflected through chimney walls when a clay liner is missing or damaged.

Fortunately, the problems of a deteriorating chimney can be corrected without completely rebuilding your chimney.

Chimney Relining

Liners with stainless steel construction is unsurpassed in strength and protection. We only install liners with life time warranties on them from the manufacturer!

We can reline virtually any chimney configuration you may have - from single, straight flues to multiple, connected flues with bends and size changes.

Liners come in all sizes and shapes.

Typically chimney liners are round in shape but there are  square chimney liners, rectangle chimney liners, oval chimney liners.

They come from 4 inches to super 12 inches in diameter and even larger. The size is very important because in a nut shell the smaller the liner the less draft you will have.

Draft is the natural pull your chimney system has that vents the smoke up your chimney and out of your house. Bad draft means smoke in your house!

Liners can be insulated or uninsulated, depending on the usage it may need to be insulated it may not. There are several types of insulation which is used to insulate a chimney in masonry liner cement is used to insulate the flue.

With stainless steel liners Cement can be used but is not the best material and we won't use it to insulate. There is a product called thermix which is by far the best. It takes a little longer to finish the job but it is the best we favor in our stainless steel liner instalations.

There are sleeves, We have found these do not increase the draft that much and rip easily while installing, We will use a sleeve if a customer insists on it it does meet NFPA 96 code it just is an inferior method of insulating a liner. Basicly it is a wrap that wraps around the liner .
